First Cell Phone Committee Meeting a Success!

by Josh Flaherty, Faculty Contributor

Last Thursday we held our first meeting of the Cell Phone Policy Planning Committee. We had 10 students and 4 faculty/staff members. We started the meeting by introducing ourselves and talking about why each of us had chosen to participate in this process. We then talked about reasons why students might need to use their phones during the day, and reasons why there might need to be restrictions on cell phone usage. Everyone had very thoughtful and mature opinions on the subject, and I was impressed by how motivated students were to play a role in shaping school policy. We’ll meet again this Thursday (3/17) at lunch!
